Dr. Ramos is a native of Corpus Christi. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston and his Bachelor of Science in BioMedical Science from Texas A&M University- College Station.

Dr. Ramos is one of the first optometrist in Corpus Christi to earn certification with the American Board of Optometry. He is licensed to practice therapeutic optometry and certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Ramos is President of the Corpus Christi Optometric Society, and an active member of both the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. His professional achievements and volunteerism were recognized in 2010 by “Corpus Christi Under 40.”

Kirk LeClear, O.D.

Dr. Kirk LeClear, a native of Kentucky, was accepted into graduate school after only two years of undergraduate work. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the University of Houston and his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. After finishing his externship at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Hospital, he joined a practice in Austin. While there, he met his wife Angela. Although they loved living in Texas, he and his wife moved back to Kentucky to be closer to relatives as they started their family. During this time, he worked in medically based ophthalmology practice and in his own private practice. Dr. LeClear and his family returned to Corpus Christi in 2016.

Dr. LeClear is licensed to practice therapeutic optometry as well as an optometric glaucoma specialist. He was one of the first optometrists in the United States to be certified to perform overnight corneal reshaping and has over 10 years’ experience fitting scleral lenses. His expertise also includes fitting contact lenses for newborn babies who are born with cataracts. Dr. LeClear is the first optometrist in South Texas to treat myopia with atropine and overnight corneal reshaping to slow the progression of nearsightedness. He currently holds memberships in the Corpus Christi Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control.

Dr. LeClear is recognized as one of “The three best pediatric optometrists in Corpus Christi.” His hobbies are sailing and woodworking.
